NMH masters sessions

Arrival of a group of master students with the mission to create a work of “music in perspective”. A somewhat loose and unspecified task, but spending the day in location research , followed by rehearsals, and dinner and discussions, it was decided next morning to make a kind of short movie, splitting the group in duos and trios and quartets , and then shooting with three iPhones on location in the abandoned furniture factory and on the defunct railway line just above Madstun.

The “perspective ” here being that, by focusing on  contemporary music by young artists in a threatened  culture economy, set on location in iconic symbols of earlier booming and failing economies, we pinpoint  the question of survival of the artist in the future, in a symbolic picture language, rather than in  verbalized statements.

Wednesday was set for rehearsals,  focusing on the musical material, thursday for filming and friday for editing in Logic and Final Cut.

Before the bus left on friday afternoon we had a finished 13 minute movie with lots of surplus material.
